Soil Moisture Sensor

The soil moisture sensor measures moisture around the root zone and sends the data to the irrigation system. It enables watering decisions based on actual soil condition instead of schedule alone.

Using configured thresholds, the system can permit watering, postpone it, or send a dry-soil notification. This reduces the risk of both insufficient watering and overwatering.

Probe type, measurement range, installation depth, moisture protection, power source, and communication protocol are selected for the specific area. Readings vary with soil composition, so thresholds should be calibrated on site after installation.
